Durable Skills
The Academic Center at MATC will address four major clusters of durable skills. The four major clusters are then further divided into twenty-eight different categories to achieve well-rounded, informed, and prepared individuals ready to enter the workforce.
- Placement Employment – Job Applications, Resume Creation, Job Interviewing, Pre-Employment, Job Market Analysis, Bullying & Harassment including Title IX, and Workplace Health and Safety.
- Self-Management – Health and Wellness, Financial Literacy, Dealing with Personality Differences, Diet, Digital Citizenship, Setting Long-Term and Short-Term Goals, and Time Management.
- Workplace Communication – Customer Service, Solving Problems as a Team, Phone Etiquette and Skills, Business Letters and Documents, Greetings and Introductions, Communication and Listening Skills, and Public Speaking.
- Adulting – Community Service, Military Exposure, Car Maintenance, Home Maintenance, College/University Terminology, Adulting, and Driving.
Students can explore the limitless job market through Oklahoma Career Guide.
MATC provides career interest inventories using the OK Career Guide and tries to expose students to the job market well beyond his/her surrounding environment.
