Mid-America Technology Center announces Purcell Municipal Hospital as the 2025 OkACTE Partner in Progress for its continued dedication to student education, professional development, and community healthcare.
Purcell Municipal Hospital, a dedicated acute care facility, has been serving Purcell and its surrounding communities since 1970. With a mission to enhance the health and well-being of its patients through exceptional, compassionate, and personalized care, the hospital has remained a trusted healthcare provider for decades.
The partnership between Mid-America Technology Center and Purcell Municipal Hospital is rooted in a shared commitment to high-quality healthcare and workforce development. Under the leadership of Chris Wright (CEO/CNO), Taylor Costante (Lab Director), and Sheila Hayden (Nurse Manager), the hospital has been instrumental in providing clinical rotation opportunities for students enrolled in Mid-America’s full-time and short-term adult health programs.
Through this partnership, students gain invaluable hands-on experience that extends beyond the classroom, while the hospital benefits from early exposure to future healthcare professionals. Over the past five years, more than 200 Mid-America Technology Center students have completed clinical rotations at Purcell Municipal Hospital, preparing them for successful careers in the medical field.
The OkACTE Partners in Progress Award is a prestigious recognition presented by the Oklahoma Association of Career and Technology Education (OkACTE) and the Oklahoma Association of Technology Centers (OATC).
